In a recent post, Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks (my team!) talks about writing notes by hand. Apparently, he hadn’t had to do that for a while and the experience made him wonder if he had just forgotten how to write.
“I literally couldn’t take notes fast enough because as I wrote, I realized I couldn’t read my own writing. Not only could I not read my own writing, when I tried to slow down so that everything would be legible, I realized that actually writing each letter as part of a complete word was actually difficult.”
Have the pen and pencil died? Are notepads extinct? Do I need to run down to the store and buy a lifetime supply of moleskines before production stops forever?
I hope not. Hopefully, only ubergeeks like Mark Cuban will take their technology addiction this far. I still prefer to take notes by hand.
