Trusting Your Employees

IvanAnywhereRead this article - Ivan Bowman of iAnywhere Solutions decided his telecommuting arrangement was leaving him out of touch with his co-workers. Since a 2000 km commute was out of the question, he came up with a different option: IvanAnywhere, a robot version of himself he could control from home but would roam around his real office to “represent” him at meetings, talk to his colleagues at the cooler, and even perform cubicle drivebys. He pitched it and, incredibly, his company agreed and even paid for it.

Holy crap! Think about this guy’s proposal and the trust it required for

his organization to say go for it. How far would a proposal like this make it in your company?
