I downloaded the Touch pdf as well - it helped me figure out how to sync only the things I wanted to. As a newcomer to iPods it wasn't obvious to me what I was supposed to do.

I got an iphone a week ago, and I'm crazy about it. Much better than anticipated. So far I don't mind the network connection. Also, maps are terrific while your traveling (but not while your driving). Traffic info seems fairly accurate and very useful. In some ways better than my wife's tomtom.

I bought a protective case, but don't use it. the case doesn't cover the screen, which is the area I'm most concerned about. Also, the rubber case makes it hard to get out of my pocket and hard to fit in the connector stand.

The phone is very good. The integration of the phone with itunes is elegant -- itunes fades as you answer the phone and comes back when your finished.

Just a joy to use. really fun. everything works.

One small gripe. the manual that comes with the iphone is minimal. I downloaded an apple pdf which is much much better and necessary. Although it is quite intuitive, there are a lot of functions, and I frequently have think about what I'm trying to do. Not automatic yet. One example is "contacts". Contacts are linked to several apps, but not accessible from the front screen.

Multi-tasking is extremely impressive.

Cool. I'm waiting for a 32 GB iPod Touch to replace my 5G iPod w/Video 30 GB model. I can't wait to get one especially when the SDK is realeased. They'll be lots of cool apps for sure. I had wondered if the screen on the Touch is as good as the one on the iPhone. I had heard that some early iPod Touch models had problems with darks screens or something. I'm sure that has long been fixed though. I hope the next model iPod Touch has Bluetooth and recording but I doubt that will come to pass. I'll buy one nonetheless.
